Our call to 24/7, day and night prayer

For every crisis there seems to be a common response from the people affected. For many in our nation, the response is fear, trepidation, or denial.

Jesus followers, operating under the leading and guiding of the Holy Spirit, have a different response. Ours is to lean into God’s presence and begin to talk with him, directly, about we are confronted with. We call this conversation...Prayer!

The Moravians were a group of 18th Century Jesus followers in Hurrnhut, Germany, who established a watch of continuous prayer that ran uninterrupted, 24 hours a day, for 100 years, launching what is widely considered to be the modern missionary movement. The cry of their hearts became, "May the Lamb that was slain receive the reward of His suffering.”

In the spirit of the Moravians, we are launching 24/7 Prayer for our city, state and nation. Our goal is to cover each hour of each day in prayer until the Covid-19 pandemic has ended.

We want to create an unbroken prayer chain by encouraging individuals to sign up for an hour (or more) of prayer doing whatever is in front of you. It may be while you’er preparing dinner or playing with your children. It may be in the seclusion of your “prayer closet.” As we learned from Brother Lawrence’s “Practicing the Presence of God,” prayer can happen anywhere, anytime and all the time!

We encourage your prayer to include times of introspection, asking the the Holy Spirit to reveal anything in your heart that is not consistent with God’s heart. There will obviously be times of intercession, when the Father shows you want He wants and invites you to join him in that pursuit. All prayer is abiding with Jesus, the Vine, enjoying His presence and basking in His glory while we talk with Him.

So, please join us in prayer. Each hour will consist of two people praying from wherever they are during that specific hour. Please include your email address so that if one person is getting a download from God, you can share it with the person with whom you are partnering in prayer.

We invite you to join us in this remarkable Prayer Journey.
